Award for UPEBBI in the Golden Hundred of Polish Agriculture ranking

9 December 2022

Union of Producers and Employers of Biogas and Biomethane Industry (name extension pending registration) on December 5, 2022 received a special award in the Responsible Business category during the gala Golden Hundred of Polish Agriculture. This prestigious ranking is organized for the sixth time by the weekly magazine ,,Wprost". As we read at https://zlota100.wprost.pl/: "The Golden Hundred of Polish Agriculture identifies the leading companies in the agri-food industry that perform best in a competitive market, in a reality full of unpredictable events and crises. Each year, the best companies receive Eagle statuettes during a gala event." The gala was held at the ARCHE Hotel in Warsaw, and was attended by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Rafał Romanowski, among others. Deputy Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk said to the winners: "this year is exceptional, there hasn't been one like it for several decades. The pandemic is not over yet, and already the war has put the entire economy, including agriculture, on alert. After the outbreak of the war, everyone asked me if Poland was food secure. I answer: yes, you can clearly see in the numbers that exports exceed imports. We are certainly safe."

The laudation regarding UPEBBI noted: "a special award goes to the Union of Producers and Employers of the Biogas and Biomethane Industry, represented by President Artur Zawisza and Vice President Beata Matecka. The Union is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year as the largest industry organization in the biogas and biomethane sector. The Union brings together dozens of Polish entrepreneurs, mainly domestic and private, developing renewable and distributed energy through investments in installations producing electricity and heat from bio-waste from the agricultural and processing sectors, mainly fruit and vegetables." On behalf of UPEBBI, the Vice President received the Eagle statuette from the hands of Deputy Minister Romanowski, while the President delivered a speech, emphasizing: "each agricultural biogas plant is a step towards energy self-sufficiency in the Polish countryside, each biogas plant means new jobs in the municipality, each biogas plant means property tax revenues for the municipal budget, each biogas plant means new Polish entrepreneurs creating energy transformation of rural areas."
